MCA Clarifies that setting up of makeshift hospitals, temporary COVID care facilities are eligible CSR activities and also appeals to corporate leaders to supplement Government efforts
- MCA clarifies that spending of CSR funds for setting up makeshift hospitals and temporary COVID care facilities is an eligible CSR activity under item nos. (i) and (xii) of Schedule VII of the Companies Act, 2013; ( Circular is attached herewith MCA clarification )
- These items relate to promotion of healthcare, including preventive healthcare and disaster management respectively;
- Adds that companies may undertake the said activities in consultation with State Govts. subject to fulfillment of Companies (CSR) Policy Rules, 2014 and related Circulars
- MCA also appeals to all the corporate leaders to come forward and supplement Government efforts in fulfilling the rising hospitalization needs in view of the 2nd COVID surge. ( A copy of the MCA appeal is attached herewith MCA appeal to corporates)
