File your Income Tax Return for AY 2017-18 – Last date is 31-03-2018

As per the amended Section 139 of Income Tax Act (Budget 2016), the belated return/ revised return of Income from the Financial year 2016-17 can be filed only till the last day of the Assessment year. Hence the due date for filing the belated return of Income for the FY 2016-17 (AY 2017-18) is 31st March 2018 after which the return cannot be filed. The Central Board of Direct Taxes(CBDT) has notified Income Tax Return Forms (ITR Forms) for the Financial Year 2017-18. For Financial  Year 2016-17, a one page simplified ITR Form-1(Sahaj) was notified.  For Financial year 2017-18 also, a one page simplified ITR Form-1(Sahaj) has been notified. Companies Act, 2013 has introduced a new requirement for listed companies and also all other companies making the Board of Directors (Sec 134), Audit Committee (Sec 177) and Independent Directors (Sch. Amendment to the Payment of Bonus Act, 1965
